No, it would probably decrease in size while the quality would improve a bit! That's my point, ogg vorbis win-win, it's a more advanced format than mp3.
With regards to time, I'm willing to contribute as much of my time to help as you need - I really wouldn't need anything more than the original FLACs or whatever they were and I'll send back ready made Oggs.

May I ask why not?
If it's because of technical issues i'd be glad to help encode the original lossless recordings in ogg (converting from mp3 to ogg is not a good idea since they are both lossy formats).
It's really not difficult, just requires a bunch of processing time.

Does it exist somewhere?
You can generally get much better sound quality from ogg than from similarly sized mp3.
