Oh, I have no idea about those, I've just started learning about the .exe type. (downloadable, etc.)

I mention mods, because I'm already quite proficient at them, whereas i have just begun learning how to make games.

And no mods cannot do the same thing as games, (Gmod being an extreme exception, and arguably not a true mod)
in case you do not know the difference

A "mod": An edited, or expanded version of a game, often adding additional areas, items, quests, etc. or in some cases reworking existing parts (a different leveling system, etc.)

browser games: played on a website within your browser (internet explorer, firefox, google chrome)

.exe games: this is what I am learning to make. These are compiled into a file with the .exe file extension, and are executable (able to run, hence ".exe") without any outside programs, they are in binary. These must be downloaded, or transferred via pendrive, etc.

sorry, wasn't sure whether it was a good idea to post all of that at once, but from now on that's what I'll do.

BUT, on a better note if you want a mod for any TES game (Oblivion, Morrowind or Skyrim (not sure about Skyrim yet, I haven't looked into the creation engine CS yet, but it should be easier if anything)) then i can help there. although i must warn you, i don't have much time because of school, so if you want me to build you a giant fortress, then it could take a week or two (or more if i have projects due) but if you want a pair of boots that let you turn invisible, or something ridiculously simple like that, I can probably get it to you in a day (again, school may interfere).

although after posting the part about a pair of boots that make you invisible, and the fact that most of the people on this site seem tech savvy, I would guess you probably already know how to do that... but if not then i can help.

Welcome! I've been looking (hmm... more like waiting I guess) for someone who makes games, as I have had some cool ideas but I have no experience/skill etc.

yah, i just started, im using a (REALLY) weird SDK right now, and the games don't convert to .exe, so until, I find either A: a better one, or B: a tutorial on how to import graphics (can't find one anywhere) you'll have to wait until i get far enough in learning python (was using c++) or untill next summer (im taking a course then is c#).

... or option C: download a ~2gb program, just to play the game

HINT: option C sucks.

Cool! I just started playing 1.8, and it is AMAZING! pretty glitchy, but when it comes out on monday that should be fixed.

Well.. this discussion is somewhat old, but I play Minecraft (and I like to think that I am good at it) and if you still haven't figured out the 360 degree cannon, I can help you with that, as well as pretty much anything else to do with redstone: shotgun cannons, multidirectional cannons (you can change direction, and power of shot), locked doors, locked double doors, secret areas using pistons, combination locks, or just random other Minecraft stuff.

I am displeased with your lack of grammar. >.<

Hi,I'm Caleb, but I go by the pseudonym Monolc in most digital places. I am 14, I live in the U.S. and (i know this must be a big shock on these forums) i like Binaerpilot's music. I enjoy playing/modding (and more recently making) computer games. If you spell something wrong, or make an error in your grammar and I notice, I will probably correct you (unless it's in a foreign language, sorry but i don't speak norwegian).
