I'm using Photoshop.
Make lines > draw base colors behind lines > erase to lines > add clipping masks to the base color layers to add more color.

I love the blimp one too. The clouds look particuarly great. Awesome work with the shading. :o

I'm still working on that thing I mentioned earlier. The severed robot arm holding an AUG. Like I said the gun is done, but I'm having trouble with the robot arm since I don't have a reference. :( I'll still try to add it, but here's the gun:

I like using just black and white too. I used to try starting things in photoshop using color right away, but messed up quickly. Much easier doing the image in black and white first before I even think of color. A lot more fun too. I'm working on a severed robot arm gripping an aug hbar at the moment. Got the gun finished, and I'm just starting work on the arm. :)

Sorry, I didn't get home until late, and 3ds Max takes a while to render. Especially ambient occlusion passes. But I'll get the front angle done soon enough. :)
