Binärpilot Community

I've been thinking that I might need a spokesperson. I'm spending too much time going through stuff like Myspace and Facebook, so I'm hoping to pimp someone to help keep me sane.

You'll be the official PR robot of the Binärpilot program untill you decide to throw in the towel. You have to write as a sub-routine of Binärpilot (some experience in RP welcome). And you'll need to be fluent in English.

At present time this means:
Control of the Myspace account, approving/rejecting comments, adding friends, adding new tracks, telling me if there's something I need to reply to etc.
Control of the Facebook group.
Control of every other "post your music here" site.
Control of ye olde mailinglist (which I hope you'll resurrect).
Access to the new blog coming on the site.
Pretty much being a spamrobot 2000 without actually spamming.

It's not as bad as it sounds, like one hour "work" a week tops (it's up to you), I'm just (already) slightly frustrated by increasing demand for attention elsewhere than the music. Regardless still I'd like to pay you for your effort, but yeah, I don't have any money. So for now, some perks:

Fame: Your own little infobawx on the site as a part of the program.
Glory: I'll write you into the band roster, meaning you're effectively part of the band. Which in turn means free admittance to every Binärpilot concert.
A promise that if I ever get a chubby salary for a show you'll get your fair share.
Anything else I (you) can think of.

Comments? Volunteers? Bring it.

I'd totally be up for that since I use MySpace and Facebook quite alot, plus I'm online pretty much all the time as it is!

Volunteer! I'm online most of the time, but I only know english. Plus I'll work for the bawx, membership, and access to backstage(no money.).

haha, that would be totally cool, but with work and school I just wouldn't have the time- it would be more of a frustration to you if I tried to help.

Best of luck Alexander. As cool as it would be to be considered one of Binärpilot, I already have so much to focus on that I wouldn't want to give it less than 100% of my attention. With my band, school and such I don't think it would work for me. Link us to your face book btw. I don't have one but I know people that do.

I'll volunteer with all I've got, and I'm sure I could handle the task. I fear I do lack a bit in the creativity-department though. I'm not a very good subroutine :(

I don't really hang out on MySpace, but the sacrifice could be made for the greater good.

As some others have stated, I too think that it might be a tad awkward in the beginning, but it should work itself out over time ^^

I'm ok to do this sort of thing, all the more so i speak fluently french, and i can cope with spanish and german. The single problem is the plausibles mistakes =). For the free time, i can do what i want thursday and friday afternoons, and the week ends..

I don't know if you've found anyone to do this yet, but I'd be totally willing to do this... I *love* your music and would love to be able to promote you :)

I still have to think about how this is going to work, at the moment I'm considering delegating the different responsibilities to more than one person; Gather a squad of sorts. One does Myspace, one Facebook, etc. I really don't want to unload a bunch of crap on a single person. Hows that sound?

That sounds like a really good idea... It could end up being a lot of work for one person to do.. You could have a sort of mini team that works together promoting you...

A group sounds better than an individual person. That way your siphoning out responsibility (and liability).

Promobot version 2; BinärpilotTroopers. To keep it somewhat exclusive the group has been limited to four people. Now to keep things interesting I've decided that every six months there will be held a vote in this forum on which trooper deserves extra attention. Extra attention meaning presents. Might be a t-shirt, a DVD, a game, or something different. It will be announced in due time. Anyway, I'm asking for one person for each of these positions.

The Megatron: Peter Andersen (LoneShark)
The original promobot. Very good english skills and interest in fictional writing required.
- In charge of the Cerebral Cortex (the site news/mailing list)
- Creating interest (site traffic) by posting the music to as many blogs and forums as possible (you will recieve templates)
- Creating content on this forum (Youtube clips, Science fiction movies, whatever)

MP3 Trooper:
A good (1mbit+ out) internet connection is required, fluent in Norwegian is a plus (Urørt).
- Keeping the torrent alive and updated
- Uploading to other torrent sites
- Keeping MP3 sites up to date with songs/pictures/whathaveyou
- Registering for more MP3 sites (whilst ensuring copyright is kept intact

Facebook Trooper:
Avid Facebook user required.
- In charge of the Binaer People Group and the Binärpilot fan-page
- Adding content (audio/video)
- Inviting more people to join the group
- Answering wall posts

Myspace Trooper: Alex Chambers (hotdog936al)
Avid Myspace user required.
- Answering messages/comments and approving the latter (avoiding mindless junk like "Thanks for the add!!!11")
- Approving "friends" and adding new ones
- Managing the player
- Posting bulletins

All this aside, the most important requirement is that you're an honest person who's aware of how potentially damaging this is for me; I'm certainly asking a huge favor, but I'm also entrusting you with my life's work as it were. So please, if you don't genuinely feel like you're up for it, best leave it to someone else. I really don't want to reach a point where I'm thinking "Christ this was a really bad idea. Why I did I trust x with the Binärpilot name." Credibility isn't something you regain quickly. I hope you understand.

Just uploading tracks through FTP. It's been a while since I did though, so I'll check the last.fm site the next few days to see if anything has changed.

Hey Alex, sorry for the (slightly) extended leave of absence from the forums for a while. Well, school has started and I'm busy as expected, however I now spend wayyyyyyy too much time on the computer anyway doing useless things now that I got a Macbook Pro. So, since I have Facebook and am already a part of the Binaerpilot group, I would love to apply as promobot for that. I can guarantee way more than an hour a week as well, and I would like to think I have some amount of INTERNET TALK SKILLS (beyond "OMFG 1337 h4xx0r!1"). Anyway, this is a really cool idea and something I would pursue with single-minded frighteningly specific dedication. I pinky swear.

Still need people to do stuff like Soundcloud.com etc. Basically uploading MP3's, tagging, all that boring shit :(
