Cyberspace » MicroKorgie for Alexander

You mentioned in an interview I read that if you had enough money that you would buy a microkorg. I have one of my own and know how awesome they are, its my little baby. I was thinking, why not start a fund raiser so that you might attain one? We could all donate. I am building up a small binäer army among my friends and I am sure they would pitch in too. Think of all the microkorgasmic tracks that you could produce with it?

Yay?Nay?

edit: its 400USD

[®]
Yay, of course. A microKorg would prawn in all manner of ways. I'll put up a dropcash for the fundraiser when the new site goes online.
New Site, zomfg <3
Ninja-preview for you. And it's fluid. No more wasted screenspace.
Prefer the old one :-(
btw, that plugin you got at the bottom right of your firefox window (greentick) is freaking awesome for webdev, use it at work!!
nice, I think that it is pretty nice so far.
>>hotdog963al
You're talking about Firebug?

>>Binärpilot
Looking forward to it :) and fluid = love!
Yupyup firebug! Made of win.
about 21 hours later…
Firebug is pretty much essential for teh JS nightmares.

New site is getting there. I liked the old one too, but it was getting cluttered. A lot of people didn't find where to download releases etc. I'm still not sure about the fonts and some of the colors on the new one, but the basic layout is sexy.
1 day later…
Not just sexy! - groovy and spaced out too^^

I'm just making the finishing touches on a layout which I've created for a small podcast-site -can't say more atm- for my employer. It ain't particulary fluid though...
6 days later…
It's up. New site around the corner.
Awesome! I'm so excited!
When you make it to arizona we shall have to jam together with our Korgs ^_^. I'll have my theremin by then to so ya can mess around with it.
Next time I get some money its going to your korg. This will get us to the backstage part of the site too, right?

- robotcha
WTF? Suddenly there was money! ^_^

Some people use some 'spares' for charity, save the pandas, kill the whales etc...I want someone to get a 'Korg. Ain't that sharing and caring? Beats me if it ain't....
about 15 hours later…
@robotcha: Yeah, this counts for backstage-axx.
@koew: It so totally is.

20% in one night? I love you guys.
My friend Jirtan made it bump from 15% to 20 :p
He is great and loves your music as much as I do. I told my mom I wanted to donate some money for a good cause, so I asked what I needed to do to get some. She asked if it was for a good cause, I said that there aren't many better causes to donate for.
Bumped to 25%.
: )

I have yet to tell my friends to donate. Hopefully that will speed things up a bit more : D
Cheers mate! To answer your GTalk question; Yeah, the exact reason I set it to $450 was to make sure there would be enough to pay Paypal for processing (bastards) and getting the bawx shipped.
I'll donate something as well at some point... not right now though
I should hope to donate at some point as well, I owe you after all the great music....
16 days later…
135 dollars now! Awesome folks :)
7 days later…
After failing to redirect donations@binaerpilot... I almost missed that the fund raiser is just around the half-way point. Go team Binaer People!
1 day later…
Go Go Team Binaer Poeple To The Max 2000 Go Go Go!
Super Happy Go Lucky Go Time Go!

Like most electronic musicians, as alexander has gotten more experienced with and (most likely) upgraded his equipment, Binarpilot has really evolved. Seeing as he wants a new toy (and nothing gets an electronic musicians creative juices flowing more than a new toy), I just donated ten U.S. dolllars. Now, I don't know any of you but for those who have said "I'll do it later when I have the money" I'll say to you-

Even 2-5 dollars each could really add up.
I'll drop some (more) when I get paid in 2008. And if you want to know how much I've donated - it's a private matter.
$275 hit. And the song lyrics so far:

Vegard Åmdal
Sigge Åmdal
Anthony Lavado
Michael McBride
Brady Ouren
Daniel Reed
Kenneth Karlsen
Oren Mazor
Matthew Davis
Tobias Nordermoen
Nathan Christopher

As for the size of the donations, like the man says, it's not important. So far it's been anywhere between $5 and $40. There's even been ~5 "regular" donations as well since I put up the new site, I'm more than happy with the turnout. Stay rockin'
5 days later…
If only I had a job i would contribute something. A friend of mine has a microKORG and I know how amazing they are. If i run into any money I shall help the cause.
about 15 hours later…
With all the names as lyrics it reminds me of the mortal kombat song ^_^
Square wave synth and a voice naming all the characters lol.
Lu Kang
Johnny Cage
ect
19 days later…
I've put the USD/NOK market on watch, as I'll do another donation if the USD would drop down to a perfect 5 or below.
What does one of these sound like?
1 day later…
I just donated again... 88%

We're almost there folks!

Let's all pitch in for the last stretch!
about 15 hours later…
i transferred some money (the rest, if my calculations are correct) through norwegian bank systems. I think i actually overshot a bit, so we should be good to go 8)
Goodness, you mean it has been paid for? Oh my-- this is exciting.

And, by the way, what are the plans so far on that US tour?
about 22 hours later…
If he didn't just spend it on booze 'n tacos...mmmm..tacos!
I'm up for donating for booze and taco supplies.
about 20 hours later…
I remember once when I donated, I specifically told him it was for beer

: D
That does it! I bet he's run off with his girl to Mexico, or somewhere cheap. Getting a tan, drinking exotic drinks out of coconuts, watching the ocean and walking around in just a shirt and a shorts. That bastard!
about 12 hours later…
Wow! You can do all that for $450 in Mexico? I'm totally there!
Posted By: hotdog963alWow! You can do all that for $450 in Mexico? I'm totally there!

I think if you spend $450 on drinks you can do most of the other stuff for free.
XD
I repeat: That bastard!
5 days later…
It's $450 now. That bastard!
Perhaps he is too busy churning out some sweet booty-bass on his brand new korgie...
I'm sorry guys, all the funds have been spent on tacos and a really, really cool sombrero.

I'll reset the fundraiser later tonight.

Just kidding.

Thank you all so much!

The machine is being bought as soon as a P.O. box is sorted (ordering from the states since the dollar is dirt cheap at the moment). I'll take some pictures for you guys as soon as I get my hands on the new baby.
Why not record some jamming before taking pictures! :D
EXCITEMENT MOUNTING. Korg, which x=awesome, +alexander, which also x=awesome, =....awesome squared.... Don't attack me, I'm not a math major by any means, but this is a recipe for excitement.

And I am jealous of our exchange rate in favor of other countries. I wish I lived in Great Britian, or any European country, for multiple reasons... The idea of buying things so cheap from the US is very alluring. Unfortunately, I live in the US, so ordering from Europe can be a pain, especially considering how often I do it (IE Warp Records, Rebel Pet Set, Legendary Pink Dots mailorder, etc etc...)
Speaking of ordering stuff over seas, I just received a package slip that'll get me alot of ordered DVDs I've been waiting on. So you can add that to your mathematical formula, Dahgrow, and increase the excitement by +2.

Lovely tax and overpricing over here, you wouldn't like it.
We get ripped off on most things.

Really, any place in Europe in general... I would conisder any English or German speaking country... I am still learning my German, and am going their this summer for school. I am sure I will learn a lot there. Very excited...
