Cyberspace » The Protect IP Act

Does anyone want a new reason to be mad at the US government? No? Too bad because the Protect IP Act is going to allow the entertainment industry to censor websites in the name of fighting piracy.
This video explains it better than I can:

If you want to know how to find the IP address of a website, just use the nslookup command in a unix based command prompt (its the terminal application under utilities in Mac OSX, terminal in Linux, and non-existent in Windows).
If you want to use unix commands in Windows you need cygwin, which can be downloaded here:

When this gets through the congress... that'd be the point where it's enough for me. Fucking. Enough. God, why do the shitheads without any idea about certain things have the power about those things? Hey Norway, good News, you're not inside the EU... Those d*kless asshats will do just the same as soon as it's done in the US. I hope the best for all Americans, though.

Thanks for the great video though, it helped me understand a bit more.

Cheers,
someone who'll move somewhere else as soon as this happens here, too.

I've started using reddit regularly about 5 months ago. I hadn't been as productive as I was yesterday since then. Damn reddit why you so addictive.
Lurker for one year, member for two years (SoonTM). I need to learn how to get all Tron'd into the interwebz so I can live off kitten pics and funny threads.

The OPEN Act differs in that it would make the International Trade Commission (ITC) the agency responsible for fighting online piracy

Why the fuck is a US trade commission supposed to have say here? Anyone should clear that up for me if you want, but I don't get it.
