Just thought that there should be a sample recommending-asking sort of thread.

So, does anyone know where I could find a vocal sample? Something not dissimilar to the one used in 'I Quiet Machine.'

Well samples from "I Quiet Machine" are from a Speak & Spell. I have a bunch of Speak & Spell samples on my hard drive, but I couldn't tell you where I got them from. They are so ubiquitous though I doubt you would have a hard time finding those on The Google™.

Ah yes, that's pretty cool! I might find a use for that, although I actually meant the female voice singing the long notes.

FreeSound is always good. Hit or miss, but there's something for almost anything there.
