Cyberspace » Music Making Updates
Hey guys!
I figured that since there were no discussions about people who make music to just be able o give updates about their progress, this would be the one!
I'll just start with this:
whenever i start to open a music making session, i just pick a random song-in-progress, and start working wherever i left off. In 03, one of my currently nameless s.i.p.'s i figured out a cool effect i can make with an electronic cowbell and the delay effect in madtracker
Lets keep this going!

Post time!
i just finished a song, it took me like, 15 minutes. i have no way whatsoever to share it though, which sucks. i do give special thanks to Humeka, check him out on jamendo.
i need a program that would let me video capture madtracker, so i can post on youtube, and then be able to share it with all you people!

You could always just record the "Stereo Mix" channel. But don't tell Yannick I told you so.

Why, since we have a thread for that now, I might just as well post a few of my own songs. I haven't composed any new track recently, so this stuff is basically a year old. Keep in mind I'm no binärpilot, just a mere trumpet player who also happens to be a geek. There's no precise style, I just do what sounds good to me. So here they are, raw and unpolished:
Skinny
Digitalwald
Your Smile
All made with renoise. I guess you can consider those under a creative commons BY-SA-NC license, but it's the interweb, so nobody's gonna prevent you to do whatever you want to with the tracks.

Awesome! Listening to this stuff now.
Protip: Add class="mp3player" to MP3 links and they'll play on click.

Hey, Alexander and all of you guys. I'd love to hear your opinion on my music!
By the way... isn't there any WYSIWYG editor for posting? Or a way to have the video appear , instead of the link?

Post Time!
Mental Note:
Eating chow mein while making music does not increase your abilities in the area of music making. it usualy does the opposite.
Hey guys, thanks for keeping my Discussion alive!
you all have really nice music!
@Alexander: i'd need more detailed info then that, because i'm not very knowledgeable about soundstuff, mostly just everything else. FYI, i have windows 7

@8_bit Zephyr: When you post links as "a href"'s, add a class="mp3player" to the anchor.
For instance:
For instance:
<a href="somedomain.com/cyborgsss.mp3" class="mp3player">Cyborg T-rex strikes again!</a>

@Georg: Because this is "full" HTML. You can just paste the embed tags right into the input field and it'll work. Like this:
Since posting a cat trying to jump is not a good contribution to this thread.
Here's a left over from Nordland (that might turn into a real song one day).

Well then... Then allow me to re-post the videos, and add some more. Just let me tell you that I also have done some pieces, that are not electronica, but more orchestral. So here we go, and I'd love for all of you to speak your mind and opinion and if it's not too much trouble... rate and comment in youtube!

the problem is, i have not the funding, since the losing of my wallet with a debit card
May I politely ask "lolwut?"
You don't need funding. All you need to do if you want to share one of your songs in mp3 format is to upload it to some free web hosting platform (e.g.: google sites) and share the link with us, using the appropriate html tag, and including the mp3player class in the tag in order to stream it straight from the page.
Voilà, it's fairly easy and completely gratis.

You can make MP3's without having the license. You just record the sound that's playing (MadTracker) with a different program (Audacity) using Stereo Mix (or similar). Read one of these.

Who too heard Kraftwerk - The Model, in there?
Posted by Alexander Kramer:I think everyone just snagged that song. Including me :D
I hadn't heard it til last night and I started FREAKING OUT! "YOU NEED TO MAKE THIS A FULL SONG RIGHT NOW!!!11! DO NOT LET THIS BE ANOTHER GIMME ABBA SITUATION!!!" It's seriously SO good.
also, if you have yet to listen to gimme abba go get it from backstage right now.
seriously, go.
@8_bit Zephyr
It's been a long time since I've used madtracker, I don't know if this still stands, but last time I checked you could export your songs as OGG files, and the results were quite good, and it sure is less of a pain than to record the output with audacity, and if you want you may convert it to mp3 afterwards using some third party software (google LAME for more info).
Or, seeing how I'm so biased, just buy Renoise 2.6
Also, I regret not having backstage access right now. I mean, with a title like gimme abba, you can't go wrong, haha.

To be honest it sounds very generic, to the point where I'm assuming it's made in some kind of loop-based software? If not then I apologize :)
You certainly have an ear for compositions. If I were you I'd try playing around with something a step up from Magix. FL is supposedly very easy to get into:

I know this is a music-oriented thread, but just throwing this out there:
Does anyone here know of a good, freeware program that allows you to create animations in a video, like drawing "over" a video someone else has filmed? My buddy and I might start collaborating with skate vids or something like that.
I've never attempted anything like this, and thought I'd give it a whorl.
In order to keep This thread "clean" you can respond to this comment on the Artwork thread.
