I have an audition for Helt Perfekt in 3 weeks! I'm so stoked!
Good luck with that, Rachael. What's Helt Perfekt about?
It's like the Norwegian "Curb Your Enthusiasm". I think it airs on tv2
Oh, you mean TVN. It's the one with Thomas Giertssen or whatever his name is. Cool cool.
yes yes! i'm excited!

watched a bunch of good movies lately. Into the Abyss was a great documentary, Shame was incredible and disturbing, The Artist was uplifting and sweet! Looking forward to watching the new Mission Impossible.

Also almost finished with Nip/Tuck (holding off on watching the last episode) so I need a new guilty pleasure drama series that has at least 2 seasons. Recommendations?
I saw "Real Steel" recently. Pretty much it turns out that Iron Man is Anakin Skywalker's father, and when they meet for the first time (Anakin is an 11yo and) they both happen to love boxing robots, so they raid a junkyard and adventure across America training and battling a scrap heap that they turned into a fighting robot. It's pretty good actually.

My friend had this idea for a movie (which I would like to develop) called "Reel Steal," and it's about movie piracy in the 40's.

fucking LOL
please make that movie
And have MAFIAA sponsor it through and through. Tons of DRM!
I'll try my best. It'll probably just end up being a 30minute thing that my friends and I film/star in, and we need to work out a more in-depth plot, but it shall be done.

Also, my friend tell me that instead of Iron Man, it's Wolverine. But it would make more sense as Iron Man, obviously.

I watched West Side Story today. I loved the plot but the movie had some of the frutiest dancing I have ever seen in my entire life. I laughed whenever the gangs danced. XD
about 13 hours later…
"Unknown," starring Liam Neeson. He arrives in Berlin, has a car accident, and suddenly there's this guy pretending to be him, with all of his memories and knowledge (and ID, which he doesn't have). His wife doesn't remember him, so is he the imposter?

Really well written plot though. And Liam Neeson being badasss.
Last movies I saw (during this weekend, with my cousin):
The Fifth Element
The Mummy
28 Days Later
Boondock Saints
Revolver (Directors Cut)
I'm currently watching the extended editions of the Lord of the Rings trilogy. I had only seen the regular ones up until now. I've watched the first two already, will probably watch Return of the King tonight.

The next film on my list is The Shawshank Redemption. I haven't seen it yet. I just hope it isn't hugely overrated.
Typical French/Canadians! You guys live in the 90s now, right?
I was 1 year old when The Shawshank Redemption came out, and it's not very popular around here.
shawshank is great. i knew that even as a 4 year old when it came out.
just watched Dog Day Afternoon. Pacino is seriously one of the best film actors of all time. he's a genius.
Not directly a film, but...

Holy god it's amazing. Why haven't I seen this before? I'd say it's the best music video ever.
Aphex Twin videos are always interesting, to say the least.
about 21 hours later…
windowlicker is definitely one of the best music videos ever made. helps when it's one of the best songs ;)

right now I'm watching Real Housewives of New Jersey. I'm not proud...

I love the intro and the incredibly long stretch-limo. I really fell off my chair when it drove in and went on for about half a minute.
lol so fuckin tacky. amazing.
Plus Aphex Twin invented this face way before the internet did even know about memes.

I love the Windowlicker scene in Grandma's Boy.
You know, I've been told by my friends that I look quite a bit like Richard D. James (aka Aphex Twin). Or at least without my glasses and with my hair tied like his. I can also imitate his trademark grin quite well. I don't have a camera handy, but I tell you, if I get one I'll post my Aphex Twin impersonation. It isn't pretty, though.

I'm gonna hold you to this!
Richard D. James isn't pretty, but he's so DAMN talented, it makes up for it and then I'm attracted to him. But I have a weird, weird line of celebrity crushes :/
Ah, yes. Celebrity crushes. My girlfriend has many of those. Most notably Gerard Way from My Chemical Romance (I can't stand that goddamn band), and more recently Samuel Larsen from the series Glee (I can't stand that goddamn show).

It's quite odd how we have almost no common tastes in music, films, tv, books, and such, yet we've been together for roughly 3 years now.
I love Glee and Sam Larsen! hahaha. When I was growing up I had the following crushes (slash still do ahem)
-Rick Moranis in Little Shop of Horrors
-Crispin Glover in Back to the Future
-David Bowie in Labyrinth
-Johnny Depp in Edward Scissorhands

now it's all about Ryan Gosling, especially in Drive and Lars and the Real Girl (can't stand The Notebook) and Glenn Howerton. mmmm.
I somehow love Milla Jovovich for Resident Evil, but way more because she sang in this amazing song by Puscifer:

Milla in The Fifth Element rules over any other Milla ever.
Damn, I knew I forgot something. Uright.

Still, for me the Puscifer Milla rules.

moral of the story: she's purty.
I agree on your celebrity crush for Ryan Gosling.

Seriously I don't think I ever had any celebrity crush, though. I'm trying real hard to find one but I can't come up with anything. I know there must be one, I just can't seem to find it. I'll come back to you on that.
A guy on a forum I used to go on posted an Aphex Twin song in a "What are you listening to?" thread. The only lyrics were something like "I will eat your soul," so I decided never to listen to their music again.
banned, right guys?! RIGHT GUYS?!

Exaro, I am dissapoint. Go listen to the Richard D. James album in full rinnow and report back with your new found affection and appreciation for Aphex Twin. (one genius, btw, not a group of people!!1!1!)
at least listen to Windowlicker, Girl/Boy Song and Beetles. PLEASE.
Come to Daddy is fucking amazing too.
I think Come to Daddy is awesome as well. The video is creepy as hell but so great. And if you think Apex Twin's songs are creepy, don't listen to Venetian Snares.
...what songs. Tell me the best ones in your opinion. I want.
ahhh I love Come to Daddy. actually cannot stand Venetian Snares, though.
He's not my favourite but he definitely has some good songs, well to me at least. And pommes, give me a few minutes and I'll get you a few links to the songs I think you should listen to.
"Where's Bill" sounds like the modern version of the hard kind of Industrial. Interesting, but not something I'd listen to again a lot of times.

It's weird how Aphex Twin manages to do something with music that good horror regisseurs can do with their movies.
There's stuff that's just plain disturbing and you don't even enjoy it, but that's not the kind I like, I like the stuff that's in some weird and creepy way both disturbing and incredibly enjoyable. I think he can do that perfectly. And that's the most interesting part about it.

abusque: kthx

^hit the nail on the head with that one.
Also, yes PLEASE do the Richard D. James impersonation and put it up here.
Szamár Madár
I like the mix of breakcore and classical elements in this one.

Hospitality
Not very musical, but closer to "traditional" breakcore. The sheer complexity of the song is quite interesting. It's not the kind of music you listen to on the bus in the morning (though it may wake you up). Actually it's probably not even the kind of music you listen to. To me it's more like an interesting soundscape (not sure if that sounds like I'm some kind of hipster but anyway).

Mutant Cunt Sniffer
Much more musical than the last one. Still closer to traditional breakcore than the first one. This one goes in the creepy categories for videos.

Öngyilkos Vasárnap
This one is very interesting. The title translates to "suicidal Sunday", and it samples a rendition by Billie Holiday of the song Szomorú vasárnap, literally "Gloomy Sunday". There are apparently many suicides tied to the original song, which makes for some interesting reading. It's only urban legends, but still interesting.

Edit: I'll post it when I get hold of a camera. I don't have a webcam or anything. Also, I hardly listen to any venetian snares anymore, but I still think it's an interesting style of music.

The first one was pretty interesting and cool!

The second one too! Yeah, I like those better than "Where's Bill". It sure isn't something to listen to every once and again for me, but it's not bad either. Still like Aphex Twin better.

For the third one: Only enjoyable together with the video. With that: What the actual fuck. I'm not sure if I like it or am just goddamn creeped out.
So it's pretty good!
