Just bringing this to the forums attention. I was really pissed when I read this.
Binaerpilot- as I'm sure your already aware, this unfortunatley includes YOUR music. Not cool.

Eh, upon further research it seems like the whole thing has kind of cooled off a bit...

If I see those girls, I'll kill 'em with some of Binärpilot's excellent music.

on the one hand it is absolutly shit. on the other... hmm... who doesn't want to let as much people as possible hear his music?
if they had asked the original artists whether they can use their tracks and this artits had given their OK everything would be fine, but that is the wrong way.
stealing is the one thing, doing it good the other *g*
but stu pushed the thing to much. I understand that he is angry about it. but his thread was like begging for sympathy, nothing else.
in conclusion: SAD situation, sue the shit out of them.
do the CCs allow suing?

Well, let's take a look at creative commons licensing...
http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/2.0/deed-music
According to this right here, it says:
-Noncommercial: you may not sell copies of said music or make any other commercial use of said music.
-No Derivative Works: You may not sample or remix this music. You may not alter, transform, or build upon this music.
-Attribution: You must give the original author credit.
According to the last two, Fitts for Fight is out of bounds. Now what is the penalty?
http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/2.0/legalcode
7 in the above link regards termination...
As far as being allowed to sue, I don't know how CC comes into play.

Fitts for Fight is the most cocksucking suckysuck "band" ever.
They were like all big and shit, but I didnt hear of them before this got known.
And the song they stole from Binär and totally fucked with makes me wish i was deaf. And that they even almost got a record deal makes me sick.
It's like Alexander himself has said: It's says more about the buisness.
Although this was kind of a good publicity thing, and he got a gig at By:larm.
I get mad by watching the record companies taking in "artists" or wannabes, then dump them because it isnt their own music, but still doesnt give contracts to the real owners of the music. I mean hell, Binär and other artists like him makes much better music than for example Annie (which is med-big in Norway. And yes, I put them in the same category: funky, electro, disco, dancing-music-shizzle), but she gets + points cause she got 2 things: Tits and a black hole between her legs.
I guess everyone is fully aware of what I just said, but the frustration had to come out ^^

I've been putting off commenting this thread for a lot of reasons, but here goes. It's shitty to steal other people's work, that much is given, but the way I see it the whole ordeal only resulted in publicity for Binärpilot. Hell, I even got to play at one of the biggest events in Norway, which in turn realized my dream of playing at numusic. Getting the music heard is my first and foremost ambition, inspiring people the second. I choose to think "they helped getting it heard, albeit unintentionally, and it inspired them to make music" (even though their rip-off track was horrible). Regardless, I'm not upset about FFF. If they had made money of my music, I would certainly have been less forthcoming, but in the end this little adventure only caused them grief.

It is kind of a crazy happening. You know, it is bad because of this, but then again this came out of it, but if this happened, but it wasn't that bad, etc.... Ususally I don't try to get myself too passionate about this stuff. I was a little uh.... Well, I had just learned about it when I had posted the thread, so I was a lot more bugged then.
Really though, it is awesome that you realized your dream, man.
