Cyberspace » Ultraviolence

Ultraviolence is a weird song, even for Alexander. Is there some kind of story behind this song? Or was it just complete randomness?
Both the intro-music and the name Ultraviolence is from the book and movie A Clockwork Orange.
What we were after now was the old surprise visit. That was a real kick and good for laughs and lashings of the old ultraviolent.

If you haven't seen the movie, I strongly suggest you drop everything in your hands right now, run to the nearest good video store and either buy or rent it.
Info about the book, info about the movie

Book > Movie. This is a general rule that should be followed, especially in this case. Both were excellent, but if you watch the movie first, it might ruin the book for you. I personally preferred the book, but that's just me.
True, true. But there are exceptions, such as the Star Wars books. My point, however, was that if vezquex didn't get the Clockwork Orange-reference, he should get into it because it's something everyone just should read/see.
I completely agree. That book, and George Orwell's 1984, are extremely relevant in our modern times and should be compulsory reads.
I must admit I haven't read the book. However, the movie score alone is reason enough to get into both.
Agreed, book > movie. The movie is good, but the book is just... so excellent...

Oh, thanks.

I watched the movie about 2 days ago for the first time. I about crapped my pants on multiple occasions when I heard where the samples came from. It was a weird déjà vu moment for me. Great movie, great song.
The song is great, the book is great, the film was shite. Personally I think its a flock situation.

I didn't see any interest in the movie either.
Still haven't read. Then again I read 2001: A Space Odyssey, 2010, 2016 and 3010 by Arthur C. Clark. A long time ago, that was... Currently reading Kingdom of Fear by Hunter S. Thompson.

book > movie, Always. But that doesn't mean that the movie can't be good.
Even the Star Wars books, mrmooge88? Don't push it too far now ;)
That is an interesting challenge though. Name movies that's better than the book. I'll start; The Shining.
Psycho.
Interesting Fact: When the cast and crew began work on the first day they had to raise their right hands and promise not to divulge one word of the story. Hitchcock also withheld the ending part of the script from his cast until he needed to shoot it.

I <3 Hitchcock.

Jaws and Silence of the Lambs also make the list.

And Clockwork Orange disturbed me to the point where I couldn't finish it and Alexander had to explain to me what happens in the end ;)
@Cyborg T-Rex: Okay. There are exceptions to the rule, just like there are exceptions to rule #34 of the Internet. But seriously how many people actually went through the books? I don't think it takes a psychic to see that coming with Star Wars.

I really need to start reading again. -gasp- Brain getting not smart no more!

Blasphemy! Heresy! BURN THE WITCH!
There are no exceptions to rule 34. That is the exception to the rule that there are exceptions to the rule. Meta enough for you?
The "Rosie O'Donnell" look it up.
BBW, don't look it up.
Yea it probably is a bad idea to look it up. Just believe me that exceptions exist.
Silence of the Lambs, that was much better than the book.
I know, right?! Hopkins never blinks!!
He is definitely the scariest man besides Nicholson
Anthony Perkins is pretty fucking scary in Psycho, too though. The last shot you see of him with the voice over of his mother... Haunts my life.
scary people....
Bob, Bob is the scariest goddamn guy in the entire world of film/cinema you ask me.
holy shit. the face...
James Bond films, they kicked the shit out of the books, for the most part.
Bob still frightens me. Tooms from The X-Files is a good second.
