Cyberspace » [Sticky] Who are you?

Since we've been getting a lot of new people here lately I thought it would be cool with a 'who are we'-thread in here. I'll start!

My name is Alexander, I was born in 1982. I have been making music on various computers since I was 15. I haven't always tracked under the Binärpilot alias but that's a whole different story. I work as a webdeveloper and designer for Manual design. Other than that I mostly slack about my day. I have a personal homepage but it's more of a playground than a proper site.
My name is Thomas, I am 21 years old. I've never made any music, and probably never will. I am a MSc student at NTNU in Trondheim, Norway. The weather here sucks. I love beer, the first cup of coffe in the morning, a walk in the woods, expensive cognac and good music.
Howdy.
They call me TJ, a combination of T (Twenteth letter of the alphabet, English) and J(Tenth letter of the Alphabet, English). I begun life around the 88 year of the 20th century, and currently reside in the North American Island known as US.

Music has always been an obsession of mine, along with video games, doodling, comic artist and cartoonist Jhonen Vasquez, poet E.E. Cummings, and kung-fu movies (and Binarpilot, but that's assumed). I learned to play trumpet when I began my melodic adventures at 12, whereas soon after at the humble age of 16 I aquired a guitar, which is being put to good use (when I feel like it).

Now, at 17, I am learning the keyboard, and plan (if my extreme inability to be motivated doesn't stop me) to create and compose some beats of my own. Also, I would like to add that research reports in general are nonsense in a bag.

That's about it, yo!
about 21 hours later…
I'm Tommy, I've experienced 23 rotations around the sun and I'm totally obsessed with music of all genras...yes, even country. I like to go around with my external hardrive and suck all of my friend's cd's onto it and absorb it all like some sort of aural sponge. I'm extremely eccentric and love making my friends laugh. I'm also a hardcore dork about really bad movies, anime & sci fi(only the good stuff). I'M REALLY INTO ROBOTS AND NINJAS TOO. As far as "serious" stuff goes I'm going to the University of Minnesota for a measily bachelors in Asian Literature and Language (Japanese) so I can go teach english in Japan. When I'm done with school shit I'll be teaching in Japan for upwards of three years but I'll stay there as long as I f#$@#%ing can. America is boring & stupid, end of story.

Aside from all that I was born in Anchorage AK I've been raised around bluegrass for about 13 or so years and play some celtic & bluegrass fiddle. My recent obsession however has been electro since it's been popping up EVERYWHERE and in mass quantities, leaving me in a prolonged state of euphoria. I'm thinking about picking up some software, probably madtracker and start rocking out some hotness. I REALLY want to start making the shit myself because everything besides music in life seems to blow and I'll have a cool excuse to hobnob with other cool as hell musicians. I'll probably get started this summer so don't expect anything for a longass time.

ALL HAIL ALEXANDER!!!! You are the best, and you put your stuff out for free even though I'd totally buy it all if I had to. I'm prolly gonna get one of those boss T-shirts soon or make a donation so you can procure that Korg. <3<3<3<3!!!!!!

hey, alexander, do you still play to wow ?

Hey all,

my name is Eivind and I'm 23 years old. I like walks in the park and talks in the dark.
I want to be a music producer when I grow up. My goal is to earn lotsa money while producing a huge number of pop hits for one-shot popstars.

Hi,
My name is Tony Gallo. aka Player Two
I started with music by playing the guitar at around 12. By 14 I had starting creating sample collages with my vcr and home stereo. At 15 I got a 4-track and a couple of cheap casios (including an Sk-1 that I still have, Unbent HA!) and Really got interested in audio as a medium, but mainly for exploration.
When I was 17 all of my musical equipment was stolen save the Sk-1 (all in all two nice guitars, avintage marshall halfstack. A peavy bass Halfstack and a 400 watt PA, plus most of two pearl drumsets.)
This event changed my outlook on music. It is around the same time I began to listen to a latin/electronc CD I stole from a resort while on vacation. Then came a few more like aphex, squarepusher, daft punk and others of the era.
I got my first computer at 17, and entered into the world of PC music making.
By 19 I had been djing awhile and also got a mac, which brought me to a new level with music. The psudonym I use for my music in this period is tory.
Somewhere along the line I have added cool toys like a small box of gameboy related music/noisemaking stuff, a MIDINES, commodore 64c, in addition to the Sk-1 which is still useful.
Now adays I go by Player Two more info at www.playertwo.net
I also have my own budding netlabel, Betamod, www.betamod.com
The site design is plauged by my lack of design knowledge, but the music, in my opinion is good. I know hteres alot out there, but you never know what you might turn up.
That's how I found binaerpilot, after all.

@izn1710: Yeah, I still play WoW on occasion.

hi my names is steffen, i'm 21 and from good old germany. i'm making music since 2001. since 2004 i'm a member of an electronic music group named XXS. we are starting to rise up right now.

i always listened to electronic music. my first electronic music cd was Daft Punks "Homework". since then I wanted to make music. i started listening to lo-fi music last year and through this I found Binärpilot just 4 weeks ago in the depth of the internet. and i love your music. what else can i say... At the moment we are working on a remix of "Goof". it will be done maybe next week... i don't know... and we are actually redifining our own sound (and rythm) from electronical dance into pure geniously electronic sound.

Awesome, looking forward to hearing it!

My name is Nate, I'm 20, almost 21(in July) from Springfield, MO in the US. Been heavy into music of all sorts for god knows how long. I'm into song writing, playing piano/keyboard/synth, vocals and drums. I've never produced any tracks but I've made a few loops etc for some live performance stuff.

A friend of mine told me about Binaerpilot a while ago and decided to see what other stuff was out there and here I am. To my suprise, I had heard Robot Wars at a party buit didn't know that's what it was until I was told that it had been incorperated into a mix that was going on.

Looking forward to hearing what's going to be comin out in the future and maybe learn some tips and maybe attempt some producing myself.

What a popular ladd you've become~

Although, inevitably, it was only a matter of time. Perhaps a cover on Times magazine is in order...
A cover on Times Magazine ain't in order - it will happen someday :)
Looking forward to get more Binärpilot music in the future.

i'm a singer, i'm even a great singer but i'm not a great remixer
i'd like to learn to make better videos and remixes...
Anthony, 19, Canadian, studying Media Arts at Sheridan.

Into computers a lot, decided to take the creative path instead of sitting at a desk all the time. Sometimes mess around with audio programming when friends are over and we set up a little laptop symphony.

I still write XHTML by hand though.
1 day later…
By hand. Am I the only picturing you sitting there with an actual notepad writing, erasing and re-writing on paper?

I do, however, like to draw some early drawings of the webpages before I actually start working on images/html/css.
Actually, I do that every now and then. Helps when figuring out how much space to allocate to things
And no, you're not the only one who pictures me doing that, and is right about it. I use both a computer program for windows and a piece of paper : D

H.A.L. here. (retardia)

I am an aspiring musician as many are here, and cant explain how much I respect Binaerpilot, Defrag changed my life and the way I look at music. Ive just joined here, and to tell you the truth expected a massive community, but wow, its quite comfortable. Im flabergahsted as to why there is no Defrag Music Videos and being a Video Producer / after effects Junky, I would love to take a crack at it sometime this year. Goof makes my electronic membrain giggle. and Alexander, you are quite inspirational and truly a revolutionary electro master in the way you release and handle your community fanbase. If only the Government of the Earth could learn from you.

Thank you

bootsac: You're not alone when it comes to the lust for more Binärpilot. He's an all-around busy robot that wishes he could live off on only his music. Sadly, that isn't so at the moment (if I'm correct).

We'll just cross our fingers and hope for some explosive, robotic and danceable releases soon...

Who am I? I am Justin. I'm crazy.
1 day later…
Hey everyone.

My name is Jorden. I live in Arizona in the U.S. I found Binäerpilot mabye a year and a half ago and he has started my love affair with electric/robotic music. I got into the genre so much that I bought a microkorg synthesizer / vocoder to see what I could do. So recently I have been making music as my hobby, my one man band Robotcha is what I have been working on. I am currently trying to compile enough tracks to have my first show. Stop by and say hey if you would like. ^_^ www.myspace.com/robotcha

I'm Oddmund and I'm from Mandal at the southern tip of Norway. I live in Oslo and attend the University there. I'll be trying to catch the concert at «Amatøren».

I've been tracking on and of since 1996, and have been making non-tracker-music for a couple of years. I also play in various bands, where I sing, play guitar, and play keyboards. The ones that are any possibility that youæve heard of (if you're in the oslo/mandal area) are Katrine, Gladlaksene or Jævla Pistolklubb.

I've been tracking under these names: jraregris, beltram, plot beltram, golden boy

I think I found Binärpilot on micromusic.net, but I'm not sure. (i've got a song there under jraregris btw)

Also, I peddle in freelance graphics and webdesign/development. I just started my «enkeltpersonsforetak» (one man business) this spring, so if you're interested in any of my services, please contact me. :P

I'll let you know when/if I make any new tracks/concerts.
Cool. I will have to look around for your works

Heya folks, My name is Trevor and I am a 32 year old music addict based in New Brunswick, Canada. I heard some BP on 8 bit peoples a couple years back and was hooked. I am referred to as the HIGHJACKER as when I am at a house party, I sneakily go to the stereo (or computron as is more often than naught) and pop in a burnt BP cd and again with the stealth, slink away and leave the CD for someone to grab. Keep up the pumping out of auditory stimulii Alexander, it serves you well!
about 19 hours later…
Very, very nice. I remember doing that once at a party, actually...

If I don't like a party I go to sometime, I should hijack it with some merzbow... find a way to ducktape the CD tray shut, as well as any parts of the stereo that could be used to turn down or shut off... Dang, I want to try that now.... How mean.
13 days later…
'Ello 'ello, folks. :}

The name's Matt, goin' on 20, from Queensland, Australia. I found out about Binärpilot's work from the MadTracker.org forums a couple of years ago (or maybe a few years, got no concept of time here), and have been keeping an eye and an ear on his stuff ever since.

I tend to do a lot of artwork, animation, and music work in my spare time. Art and animation stuff always gets slapped up at deviantART, and there's a bit of music available up on MySpace - still in the process of putting a website together.

Welp, s'all I've got to say. Time to lurk!

Alright People.

My name is Elliott, iv just turned 17 add im from Essex, England. I found out about Binärpilot's work from my friend Alex (hotdogal163) when on holiday 4 weeks ago when he constantly played some of his tracks to me. I also produced a ringtone of one of his songs which il uploaded sometime soon.
Cheers.

About time i wrote something here :X

My name is Tobias, seventeen years old. I live in Sarpsborg, Norway.

I'm not sure when or how i got hooked on Binärpilot, but it was at least 2-3 years ago. It was most likely through FreakForum that i heard it first time. Either that or from my friends. I never, until the release of Robot Wars, spent much time listening to the music. I liked it, it wasnt that, it just didn't happen. Now, I've been dowloading and organizing all my Binär hits, and finally listening to older stuff than "Defrag".

Also, i nearly killed myself when some friends phoned me up from SMK/Binär at blitz. I couldn't get there. Thankfully, I got to go to Rock Am Sogn, but it didn't really match up well :X
about 18 hours later…
Couldn't go to Rock Am Sogn, I mostly blame work, myself and their (the hosts) lousy webpage that went down a week before the gig.

Though I had fun at Club Maiden. Although I got somehow stalked by this teacher. I wish Binär would "Strikes Back" at Spasibar. I like that place.
about 1 month later…
My name is Chris. I like pie.
