I was talking to Anthony tonight about giving props to people who spread the site. So I put up a very, very simple system to track inbound links with a designated identifier. Right now it's nothing more than a proof of concept, there's no anti-cheating, no ordering, but hey -- at least it works.
To see how many times people click your link simply add /robot/<nickname> at the end of it.
(To prevent the most obvious abuse I've made it so <nickname> can't be larger than 12 characters.)
I've changed my forum signature URL on NFF to http://binaerpilot.no/robot/alexander and Anthony has added http://binaerpilot.no/robot/ndesk to his email signature. You can see the results here.
I haven't written code to prevent refresh-spam, so this is trust-based until I do. Play nice. Also, a signed CD-R is hereby promised to whoever owns this.

Why would you link to nerd.php? That's not part of the actual site. However, as Inge pointed out, you would get points for linking to nerd.php as it stands.

I just checked the stats. Guys, we're getting our collective ass handed to us by little girls. This can't stand. They're only two and have over 200 hits, we are eleven and haven't hit 100. Our reputation is at stake here, get your gamefaces on ffs.
I see it as quality > quantity, you know. If I get three persons to visit the page AND download some or all of your music, then those count as ten visitors who doesn't do anything but look at the page, then leave.

That was the philosophy I was following, that I'd rather give the link to people that I know will have a higher chance of "conversion" where they will end up downloading the music.
Unfortunately, until the day that computers can read minds and assess that, it's quantity > quality for this fight.

so, ive been planning to do some major spammage IRL. tylr and kid dynamite are in on this too, but i thought that one day at school we would all wear our binaerwaer, and hand out/throw CDs and little info cards to people, and around the school. Just think, you walk in one day, just a regular day, but as soon as you walk in the door, hundreds of CDs and paper cards ninja toward you, and all you can think is, "Damn, i wanna play this CD." And henceforth that day was known as binaerpilot day, and is celebrated monthly.
i doubt it will be as apocolyptic as that, but im sure it will be quite epic.
